Theracare was born from a vision of accessible, inclusive mental health support in North Wales and beyond. Theracare began because I grew tired of watching people wait months for help only to find the care didn’t quite fit. I dreamt of a practice rooted in accessibility and advocacy, where evidence‑based therapy meets genuine human connection. I founded Theracare to advocate for and deliver compassionate, evidence‑based therapy to all who need it. Our mission is to bridge gaps in mental health services, empower clients with tools for growth, and foster a community where everyone feels heard and supported.

Theracare provides a suite of NICE‑recommended, evidence‑based interventions including Mindfulness‑Based CBT (MBCBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution‑Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and more to support your mental health journey. At Theracare, we’ll work with you to build practical skills and coping strategies that ease distress, foster resilience, and help you move forward with confidence toward the goals that matter most to you.

Therapy at Theracare is a collaborative journey and it only succeeds when you bring your commitment, curiosity, and follow‑through. You’ll be invited to practice skills between sessions, reflect on your insights, and show up even when it feels hard. I’ll guide you every step of the way, but real change depends on your active participation and motivation. Together, we’ll make your goals possible. I strive to create a space that’s safe, inclusive, and affirming of all identities, especially if you’re neurodivergent, LGBTQIAP+, or navigating cross‑cultural challenges

About Me

Hello! I’m Aniket S. G. Kulkarni, a HCPC‑registered Counselling Psychologist now calling Wrexham home. I’ve spent the past decade working in diverse settings, from community clinics in Mumbai to outpatient services in the USA, and most recently supporting young people in North Wales with complex mental health issues.

Over the years I’ve seen firsthand how the right blend of skills and compassion can turn struggle into growth. At Theracare, I offer a range of NICE‑aligned, evidence‑based interventions such as MBCBT, DBT, SFBT, and person‑centred work all tailored to your needs, whether you’re dealing with trauma, anxiety, low mood, or seeking deeper self‑understanding.

I believe therapy is far more than just talking. It’s a structured, evidence‑based process built on interventions with high reliability and validity. Together, we’ll use proven techniques and measurable strategies to track your progress and tailor each session to what truly moves the needle for you.

Over the years, I’ve also been privileged to give back through pro bono work, offering free therapy sessions to frontline workers during the COVID‑19 crisis, and delivering community workshops on stress management and resilience for local schools and charities. These experiences reinforced my commitment to making mental health support accessible to all.

Finally, I really love this quote I came across in the early days of my mental health career, and I still believe it today:

“They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”

To me, this speaks to the heart of therapy: while we work with evidence‑based techniques and practical tools, it’s the compassion, validation, and trust we build together that truly transforms your experience.
